Hank Speedman teams with Steve Dillon

Tropra Music is proud to announce the forthcoming release “Find Another Way” by Australian based nu-country artist Hank Speedman on 1 February 2022.

Telling of the struggle to overcome negative habitual behaviors and find solitude amongst adversity, “Find Another Way” reminds listeners that sometimes it is necessary to take a different approach when life gets you in a rut.

“I’ve had a lot of struggles around how to find contentment without becoming dependent on toxic situations, including soul-destroying relationships”, says the introspective Speedman, who felt many people could relate to these challenges. According to Speedman, “Find Another Way” is about “seeking to break those negative cycles through a sense of perspective and a shift in attitude.”

The message is hammered home by the raspy vocals of featured Sheffield rocker Steve Dillon, and set against the drum and guitar sonics of Florida-based musician David Beinkemper, making “Find Another Way” a truly international collaboration. Speedman felt the collaboration worked brilliantly. “Steve’s got those hard-edged vocals that ooze struggle, while Dave’s guitar has a kind of relaxing, gentle vibe. It’s like the two forces represented in the lyrics – the struggle and the serenity. You would think the vocals and instrumentals wouldn’t work together, but they do.”

Accompanying the song’s release is a music video featuring, amongst other imagery, MMA training and a wilderness road trip. Speedman explains: “The MMA training represents the internal battle to overcome negative behaviors.” The footage of alcohol, a prison cell and a dishevelled man accentuates some of the consequences of losing the battle. In contrast, the road trip into the wilderness and the climatic ascent of the mountain provide the metaphoric imagery of final victory in achieving contentment. “It’s an inspirational ending,” says Speedman.
